Finding fabric online can seem overwhelming and scary at first. My experience has been both wonderful and disappointing. When I first bought fabric online a few years ago, I looked for the cheapest things I could find. I even bought a "bargain box" of items that I didn't really know what I was getting. As a result I was disappointed. The bargain box was filled with fabrics that I wouldn't have chosen for myself.
I started reading sewing blogs to see where others were shopping. I got some great ideas and courage to purchase online again. This time I bought only things that I knew I wanted. Customer service was great. I feel that I recieved quality fabric and it was cut very nicely. I now have several favorite online fabric stores. The best part is shopping while the kids play at home- not in the isles.
I found this great site called The Fabric Shopper. She lists online fabric stores as well as what is on sale and when. I love finding fabric on sale! http://fabricshopperonline.com/

Zippers!!!
Zippers aren't as hard as they seem. A little practice and you will have something professional looking. Pillows, pencil cases, and skirts are good projects to start with. Most common zippers are invisible zippers, side seam zippper, center zipper, recessed zipper.
Search you tube for videos and google tutorials for each zipper name. There are a ton!
Here are a few to get you started.
